Approval conditions

* The approved provider must ensure that the child safe standards are clearly addressed in all relevant policies and procedures of the service, including the Interactions with Children, Staffing, Providing a Child Safe Environment and health and safety policies and procedures. The policies and procedures must include clear expectations and protocols for appropriate behaviour from staff and visitors to the service, along with the supervision of children; and A copy of the revised Interactions with Children, Staffing, Providing a Child Safe Environment and health and safety policies and procedures must be submitted to the Regulatory Authority by 24 November 2017. * The approved provider must provide professional development to the persons with management or control of the service, the nominated supervisor, educational leader and educators employed, appointed or engaged by the approved provider to ensure that they have an understanding of the child safe standards by 24 November 2017; and The professional development must be delivered by a recognised organisation or expert, approved in writing by the Department, prior to their engagement; and The Department must be provided with proof of the completion of the professional development within 7 days of completion. * The approved provider must ensure that the person with management or control of the service, the nominated supervisor and all educators employed, appointed or engaged by the service attend an information forum conducted by the Department in relation to the content and application of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (National Law) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 (National Regulations) by 24 November 2017. * The approved provider must provide professional development to the persons with management or control of the service, the nominated supervisor, educational leader and educators employed, appointed or engaged by the approved provider in the receipt, management and resolution of complaints and grievances so that all complaints received are documented, appropriately reported, investigated fairly and resolved within a timely manner by 24 November 2017; and The professional development must be delivered by a recognised organisation or expert, approved in writing by the Department, prior to their engagement; and The Department must be provided with proof of the completion of the professional development within 7 days of completion. • An approved provider of an education and care service that is listed on the Department of Education & Training Bushfire At-Risk Register must ensure that: • The service does not operate on any day that the Victorian Emergency Management Commissioner declares as having a 'Catastrophic' Fire Danger Rating that applies to the area or district at which that service is located. • The service's emergency and evacuation policies and procedures required under regulation 168 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations include an Emergency Management Plan for managing the service's bushfire and grass fire related risks. • The service's Emergency Management Plan is kept up to date, reflects the service's operating context, is reviewed at least once each calendar year, and includes: o a list of the service's emergency contact details o procedures for monitoring and managing bushfire and grassfire risks and events o procedures for identifying and managing events that may cause planned, unplanned or pre-emptive closure of the service o procedures for notifying families of children enrolled at the service of any closure o procedures for reviewing and updating the Emergency Management Plan. • A copy of the service's Emergency Management Plan is made available to the Regulatory Authority on request.
