Approval conditions

The approved provider undertakes and documents a risk assessment, in accordance with the Kidsafe playground safety standards requirements for ensuring the safe use of the climbing wall and slide by children attending the service before children are permitted to use this equipment. o Risk management treatments for the safe use of the climbing wall and slide must be incorporated into the service policies and procedures required by regulation 168 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations. o Parents or guardians of children attending the service must be provided a copy of policies and procedures related to the safe use of the climbing wall and slide and must provide the service with written authorisation for their child to participate in activities using the climbing wall and slide. o The approved provider must ensure that at all times children are being educated and cared for, that one additional educator above the minimum prescribed in regulation 123(1) of the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 is required when the climbing wall and slide is in use. The Level one spaces identified on the plans as outdoor area are not included in the area measurement calculations for outdoor space.
