Approval conditions

The approved provider must: • Engage or appoint a nominated supervisor, who is an experienced staff member, and holds at least an approved Diploma level qualification and has at least 3 years’ experience in an education and care service. • The nominated supervisor must visit the service and work onsite for at least one session each week to model practices and provide leadership support for staff members who are deployed at the service. • Keep a written record of the nominated supervisors’ visits, including their name, and the time of arrival and departure at the service. • The record must be kept up to date and available for inspection at the service on request by an authorised officer. The approved provider must: • Provide professional development to the nominated supervisors, educational leaders and all educators employed, appointed, or engaged to work that build the educators’ skills in: o providing a child safe environment o adequate supervision of children at all times; and o supporting children with additional and behavioural needs. • Ensure that the professional development is delivered by a recognised early childhood organisation or expert, approved in writing by the Regulatory Authority, prior to engagement; and • Ensure the professional development is conducted within 30 days of the imposed condition: and • Ensure that evidence of completion of the professional development is provided to the Regulatory Authority within 7 days of completion of the professional development. The approved provider must: • Review and revise the service’s policy and procedures in relation to ‘providing a child safe environment’, specifically in relation to supervision of children in the outdoor space within 30 days of the imposed condition; and • Ensure that the service policies include processes to address supervision of children in all areas of the service; and • Ensure that evidence of completion of the policy and procedure review is provided to the Regulatory Authority within 7 days of completion.
