Approval conditions

This service is approved to provide education and care to children from 15 months up to and including school children. The Approved Provider must keep separate the two types of transportation of children it conducts. Particularly, the Approved Provider must not transport, on the same vehicle at the same time: a. Children who are being transported to or from the service premises; and b. Children who are being transported directly between: i. Home; ii. School; or iii. An excursion destination. The Approved Provider must, on request from the Regulatory Authority, provide the following documents within 14 days of receiving that request: a. Commonwealth data submission for a one week period; b. Bus rolls for a one week period; and c. Attendance record under regulation 158 of the National Regulations for a one week period. At all times that children are being transported, the Approved Provider must ensure that there is a minimum of two appropriately qualified paid or unpaid staff members on the vehicle (which may include work experience students or other volunteers that are on the books and records, and under the direct supervision and direction of the Approved Provider), with at least one paid or unpaid staff member acting solely in a supervisory capacity. The minimum qualification for paid or unpaid staff members on the vehicle are that: a. They all hold a current blue card; b. They are all trained in the transportation policy and procedure and participate in regular rehearsals of the procedure; c. Either the driver or the supervisor (or both) hold a current approved first aid qualification; and d. Either the driver or the supervisor (or both) have had current approved anaphylaxis management training and current approved asthma management training. The Approved Provider must ensure that all staff are inducted in the transportation policy and procedure, and have completed practical training. Practical training must also occur following any updates to the transportation policy and procedure. The Approved Provider must ensure that a record of the training is kept at the Service for inspection by an Authorised Officer. The Approved Provider must ensure the transportation policy and procedure is rehearsed at least quarterly and must ensure that a record of these rehearsals is kept available for inspection at the Service by Authorised Officers.
