Approval conditions

No more than one nominated educator can be counted in the diploma level qualified educator to child ratios when the children attend specialist classes of up to one hour duration. The nominated educator must hold a primary teaching qualification. An educator from the early learning centre must accompany the children to and from the specialist classes and remain with the children during the classes. The early childhood teacher will remain on the school premises and be directly and immediately available to care for children as the need arises. An educator who does not meet the requirements of r126(1)(a) may replace an educator who meets these requirements for the prescribed lunchbreak.
