Approval conditions

The service must develop and maintain a policy in relation to children’s access to outdoor space (outdoor space policy) The service’s outdoor space policy must provide for all children being educated and cared for by the service to have regular access to the roof top play space. The approved provider must take reasonable steps to ensure that the nominated supervisor and staff members of the service follow the services outdoor play policy relating to access to outdoor space. The Approved Provider is required to ensure objects are not placed in a manner that may allow a child to climb over barriers or fences; and, all play equipment in the outdoor play spaces are maintained and placed in a way that meets the requirements of the Australian Playground Standards (Standard AS 4685:2014) with particular consideration given to falling space, impact areas and free space. The approved provider must ensure that they incorporate and maintain natural elements and features within outdoor spaces. The Approved Provider is required to engage a suitably qualified person to ensure maintenance of the welded mesh external perimeter fencing annually.
