Approval conditions

This service is approved to provide education and care to children from birth up to and including over preschool age, not including school children. To comply with regulation 84A of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure – • each child up to 12 months of age has a cot, and • each child over 12 months of age who developmentally needs a cot has one to meet their needs for sleep and rest (“sleep and rest condition”). To comply with regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure that in Activity 2, there are no more than 8 children who are in the two groups identified in the sleep and rest condition (above). To comply with regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure that cots are positioned according to the diagrams in Activity 1 and Activity 2, labelled 'Cot Layout', adjacent to the sleep room door. The approved provider must ensure that the mirrors installed at the service are constantly maintained and operational to ensure the facilitation of adequate supervision of children at all times they are being educated and cared for at the service, having regard to the need to maintain the rights and dignity of the children as required under regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations. The approved provider must ensure that when the number of children using Outdoor Play 3 exceeds 18, the gate between Outdoor Play 2 and Outdoor Play 3 is latched open to create a combined outdoor playspace. At any time children are utilising the combined outdoor play space, Outdoor Play 2 and Outdoor Play 3, the approved provider must ensure there is a minimum of six (6) educators, engaged and present to provide supervision. A minimum of two (2) educators must supervise children using the amenities between Activity 3 and Activity 4. The approved provider must ensure there is a minimum of three (3) educators, engaged and present to provide supervision in Outdoor Play 2 at any time children are utilising that outdoor play space. A minimum of two (2) of these educators must remain in Outdoor Play 2 at all times, to ensure adequate supervision, while other educators assist children to access amenities. The approved provider must ensure there is a minimum of three (3) educators, engaged and present to provide supervision in Outdoor Play 3 at any time children are utilising that outdoor play space. A minimum of two (2) of these educators must remain in Outdoor Play 3 at all times, to ensure adequate supervision, while other educators assist children to access amenities. To comply with regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure that the plantation shutters in Activity 4 and 5 remain in an open position, angled so that they allow unimpeded visibility between activity rooms and outdoor play spaces at all times children are being educated and cared for at the service, to ensure the facilitation of adequate supervision.
