Approval conditions

The approved provider must ensure that at all times children are being educated and cared for, that one additional educator above the minimum prescribed in regulation 123(1) of the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 is required to be educating and caring for children to ensure adequate management of children moving between levels; coming up and down the stairs to the mezzanine; and, to support flexible access to the genuine outdoor areas. The approved provider must ensure that no outdoor play equipment on level 1 and the mezzanine is placed within 1.9m of the perimeter fencing. The approved provider must develop a plan to ensure that all children being educated and cared for at the service have regular access to genuine outdoor space and natural environment and natural features. This plan must be submitted by 31 March 2018. The waiver from regulation 108 – outdoor space only relates to the covered outdoor play area on the Swan Street side of the building. Between the hours of 6.30am to 7.00am and 6.00pm to 6.30pm while the children are unable to access the outdoor areas the approved provider must ensure that service has adequate planning and routines to meet the needs of children with regards to not being able to use the outdoor area.
