Approval conditions

The approved provider must ensure that an additional staff member above the educator to child ratios prescribed under section 169 of the National Law is present and actively working with children during arrival and departure transition times. The additional staff member must be used to support active supervision practices during this time. By 31 March 2024, the approved provider must provide service staff with professional development and training on the adequate supervision of children within an early childhood education and care setting. The approved provider must ensure that: • The professional development and training is provided to all staff employed at the service who are responsible for educating or caring for children attending the service. • The professional development and training is provided by a recognised early childhood training organisation, consultant or expert. • Written approval is obtained from the Regulatory Authority of the suitability of the training organisation, consultant or expert prior to them being engaged. • At the completion of the professional development training, documentary evidence is provided to the Regulatory Authority of each individual staff members successful completion of the professional development and training.
