Approval conditions

This service is approved to provide education and care to children from birth up to and including over preschool age, not including school children. To comply with regulation 84A of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure – • each child up to 12 months of age has a cot, and • each child over 12 months of age who developmentally needs a cot has one to meet their needs for sleep and rest (“sleep and rest condition”). To comply with regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure that in Activity Room 1 there are no more than 10 children who are in the two groups in the sleep and rest condition. To comply with regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure that in Activity Room 2 there are no more than 10 children who are in the two groups in the sleep and rest condition. To comply with regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure that cots are positioned according to the cot room maps in Activity Room 1 and Activity Room 2, adjacent to the sleep room doors. The approved provider must ensure that the mirrors at the service are constantly maintained and operational. This is to ensure the facilitation of adequate supervision of children at all times they are being educated and cared for at the service, having regard to the need to maintain the rights and dignity of the children, as required under regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations. At any time that there are eight (8) or fewer children being provided with education and care in Activity Room 1 and/or Activity Room 2, the approved provider must ensure that one (1) additional educator above the minimum ratio for Activity Room 1 and/or Activity Room 2 groups is engaged and present to provide supervision at any time children are utilising Outdoor Play 1.
