Approval conditions

This service is approved to provide education and care to children from birth up to and including over preschool age, not including school children. To comply with regulation 84A of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure – • each child up to 12 months of age has a cot, and • each child over 12 months of age who developmentally needs a cot has one to meet their needs for sleep and rest (“sleep and rest condition”). To comply with regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure that in Babies and Toddlers Activity rooms, there are no more than 5 children who are in the two groups identified in the sleep and rest condition (above). To comply with regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure that cots are positioned according to the diagrams in the babies and toddlers’ activity rooms, labelled ‘Cot Location Map’, adjacent to the sleep room door. To comply with regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must ensure that the gate between the fenced verandah and the outdoor play environment remains open whenever children are accessing the outdoor play environment, except where: (a) fewer than three (3) educators are supervising children in the outdoor play environment, in which case the gate must remain closed and children must not access the fenced verandah; or (b) the fenced verandah gate is temporarily closed due to inclement weather or an identified hazard. The gate must be reopened as soon as the circumstances described in paragraphs (a) or (b) no longer apply. The approved provider must ensure that the mirrors installed at the service are constantly maintained and operational to ensure the facilitation of adequate supervision of children at all times they are being educated and cared for at the service, having regard to the need to maintain the rights and dignity of the children as required under regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
