Approval conditions

The Approved Provider is required to ensure objects are not placed in a manner that may allow a child to climb over barriers or fences, and all play equipment in the outdoor play spaces is maintained and placed to meet the requirements of the Australian Playground Standards (Standard AS 4685:2014) with particular consideration given to falling space, impact areas and free space. The Approved Provider must ensure that they incorporate and maintain natural elements and features within outdoor spaces. The approved provider must ensure that the minimum number of educators required to educate and care for children at the service is to be calculated in accordance with the following ratios: a. for children from birth to 24 months of age, at least one educator is in attendance for every three children; b. for children over 24 months of age and less than 36 months of age, at least one educator is in attendance for every four children; and c. for children aged 36 months of age or over (other than children over preschool age), at least one educator is in attendance for every eight children.
