Approval conditions

The maximum number of children being educated and cared for by the service at any one time must not exceed 100. The nominated supervisor must be employed on a full-time basis, attending the service five days each week and be onsite every school day to provide effective oversite of staff’s compliance with supervision requirements The approved provider must ensure children in attendance are issued yellow POSH vests while conducting outdoor activities. The approved provider must ensure an educator to be placed at the entrance point to the oval/school grounds on Hatfield Street while conducting outdoor activities The approved provider must ensure head counts are conducted every 15 minutes while in the outdoor area and documented The approved provider must complete an induction for each staff member to be employed to undertake work at the service prior to the first day that the staff member will commence work at the service. The induction must include review, and record of understanding, of the service policies and procedures, including any relating to providing a child safe environment and supervision. This must be documented within the staff record for each educator and be available for inspection by authorised officers upon request. The approved provider must ensure that a staff meeting occurs at the service once a month with all available staff of the service and includes standing agenda items relating to supervision and Quality Area 2. Minutes of these meetings must be recorded and available for inspection by authorised officers upon request. The approved provider must provide annual education and training from an external provider such as Network of Community Activities or CELA to the nominated supervisor and all staff members of, and volunteers at, the service in relation to the adequate supervision of children. Should the approved provider fail to meet these requirements, the service approval may be suspended or cancelled. The approved provider must notify all families of children enrolled at the education and care service of these conditions and provide a copy of this notification to the Commission. The approved provider must ensure that the education and care service only provides education and care for children over preschool age. The approved provider must ensure that, for each child being educated and cared for by the service, the education and care service premises has at least 2.52 square metres of unencumbered indoor space. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the approved provider must ensure that when the waiver for regulation 107 is in force, the service complies with the COVID-19 related advice from relevant health authorities, and adheres to relevant health measures put in place by the Australian Government, including social distancing recommendations
