Approval conditions

It is a condition of the service waiver that the Approved Provider install four (4) windows in the rear wall of the service premises with an area not less than 1 square metre each in size, including maximum 20mm steel frame, at a height 600mm from the ground. The installation to be completed by 31 December 2021. It is a condition of the service waiver that the Approved Provider install and maintain a pathway that children can use to cross through the garden bed in front of the rear wall of the service to enable them to access and look directly through the windows. The plants in the rear garden bed are to be maintained to ensure they do not obstruct children’s access to the windows. It is a condition of the service waiver that the Approved Provider must ensure that the service maintains an adequate amount of live, healthy plants of varying species and sizes at all times within the designated indoor spaces on the ground and mezzanine levels of the service premises. It is a condition of the service waiver that the Approved Provider must ensure that the service maintains a variety of natural life, elements and surfaces present in the enclosed outdoor space, such as but not limited to, sand, rocks, earth, water, flora and fauna. It is a condition of the service waiver that the Approved Provider must offer all children attending the service the opportunity to participate daily in an excursion or regular outing to a natural outdoor area. It is a condition of the service waiver that the Approved Provider must notify the Regulatory Authority if there is an intention by the service to change the schedule or destination for the excursion or regular outing to a natural outdoor area. It is a condition of the service waiver that the Approved Provider must notify the Regulatory Authority if parental authority for children to attend the excursion or regular outing to a natural outdoor area falls below 60% of children attending the service. It is a condition of the service waiver that the Approved Provider must ensure that, as required under regulation 110 of the National Regulations, windows at the front of the building remain open while children are in attendance, unless weather conditions render it unsafe to do so. This service is approved to provide education and care to a maximum of 101 children. The Approved Provider must ensure that the mirrors and/or CCTV and monitors installed at the service are constantly maintained and operational. This is to ensure the facilitation of adequate supervision of children at all times they are being educated and cared for at the service, having regard to the need to maintain the rights and dignity of the children as required under regulation 115 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations. Planter boxes and plants located along or near the edges of the children’s enclosed outdoor play areas across all levels of the service are to be monitored by the Approved Provider regularly and any unacceptable risks posed by potential climbing hazards must be addressed immediately. The Approved Provider must ensure that three staff are working directly with children at all times education and care is being provided on the mezzanine level and while children are accessing the internal stairway between ground and mezzanine floors.
