Approval conditions

The approved provider must ensure that: a. All new staff who attend the service, including permanent, relief and agency staff, must complete a service induction which includes training about service specific supervision requirements and how to comply with the service approval conditions; and b. This induction must be completed prior to them commencing any shifts; and c. The nominated supervisor or responsible person ensures that a written record signed by the new staff member is made immediately after the induction has been completed and indicates on that record that they are satisfied that the person fully understands the service’s policies and procedures. The approved provider must ensure that the nominated supervisor or responsible person of the service conducts an audit every 8 weeks (minimum 6 times per annum) to ensure that all staff employed by the Service are following all of the Service’s policies and procedures. The Approved Provider must ensure that the nominated supervisor or responsible person maintains a written record of each audit immediately after it is conducted, including details such as the time and date of the audit, who conducted it, and the accompanying audit results. These audit records must be made available for inspection by the Regulatory Authority as and when required. 1. The approved provider must ensure that, on each occasion children are being served and offered food at or by the service, a nominated supervisor or responsible person assigns a particular educator to serve food to and supervise children with known allergens and medical conditions, and gives instructions to the assigned educator regarding the task. 2. The approved must ensure that the nominated supervisor or responsible person keeps a record of the name of the educator who serves food to and who supervises children with known allergens and medical conditions, and of the verbal instructions given on the task. 3. The approved provider must ensure that, whomever is assigned by the nominated supervisor or responsible person to serve food to and supervise children with known allergens and medical conditions must be the person who serves food to and supervises children with known allergens and medical conditions in the relevant room of the service, when food is being served to children. The approved provider must ensure that, whenever children are being educated and cared for by the service, the relevant number of educators educating and caring for the children is at least one educator more than the number prescribed for this purpose.
