Approval conditions

This service is approved to provide education and care to children from birth to over preschool age, including school children. It is a condition of this service approval that an adequate number of healthy live plants in a variety of species and sizes is maintained at all times in the enclosed outdoor areas of the premises, ensuring children are afforded opportunities to explore and experience the features of a natural environment as required under regulation 113 of the Education and Care National Regulations It is a condition of this service approval that the supervision mirrors installed at the service are maintained and operational at all times to ensure the facilitation of supervision of children being educated and cared for at the service as required under regulation 115 of the National Regulations. The Approved Provider for this service must not provide education and care for more than thirteen (13) non-ambulant infants at any one time. The Approved Provider is required to ensure that one (1) additional staff member (above the National Legislation minimum required educators) is present at the service at all times education and care is provided and must assist to safely and adequately evacuate children from the service for both emergencies and rehearsals. This additional staff member is required to provide assistance to evacuate non-ambulant infants and early ambulant children aged up to two (2) years of age particularly on level one (1) and is required to undertake the evacuation procedure responsibilities of the Centre/Manager/Responsible Person. A copy of each report on a rehearsal prepared in accordance with the above condition including any recommendations for actioning is to be supplied to the applicable Regional Office of the Regulatory Authority within seven (7) days of receipt of the report by the Approved Provider. The Approved Provider must engage an appropriate expert, such as a person/entity holding a Queensland Building and Construction Commission licence in Emergency Procedures, a fire safety advisor or fire safety engineer, to observe and report on one full rehearsal at least annually by the end of December.
